Trial report - Groomed Pole Creek, Snow Shoe, Headquarters, Haunted (ALL TWICE) Blackjack, Dilly Dally and Black Ice today. Bench cut everything that was off camber, and did a lot of rut fixing. If it had time to set up before people rode or walked/ran it should be good for the weekend. Just a reminder that riding, hiking and running behind the groomer is counter productive and creates more work for the groomers. Skiing and snowshoeing are okay, but the rest of us need to give the trail time to set up. Thanks, and have a great weekend. #GRYFB

FYI: This Saturday February 8,2020 at 8:am the Wyoming Winter Senior Olympics will be taking place in Happy Jack. At 8:am the Fat Bike Race will start in the Happy Jack (lower) parking lot. There will be a 5K and a 10K with marked trails. Starting at 9:am there will be a snowshoe race, also starting at the Happy Jack (Lower) Parking lot. Both races will have racers on the single track trails. Please come up and cheer on our local athletes and enjoy some recreation time in the greatest Multi Use trail system in the world. Hope to see you there.
All the trails except Crow Creek are all packed thanks to Dan McCoy tonight. I went up this evening with the trail inspection crew (pictured) to check his work, and he gets an A+!!! Thanks Dan. GRYFB
We got lots of snow yesterday - maybe six to eight inches on the hill (I'm guessing) - It was awesome to see so many users out on public land today. Ski, bike or go by foot, it was great to see you out there having fun.
Freshly groomed today: Snowshoe (several times) Headquarters, Haunted, Pole creek (several times) Black Ice, Dilly Dally, BlackJack, Middle Aspen, (Aspen was riding well due to snowshoe and Skiers so I skipped it for today.) - Everything is riding extremely well except of course Crow Creek, which we will make progress on as the week continues. Thanks to all who ride and help keep these lands public. Please consider chipping in a few $$$$ to help the cause: https://www.laramiebikenet.org/pledge.html ![]() Trail Report at end of this:
I want to take a second to let everyone know that we have the new packer up and running, and it is going to work extremely well. I want to take a second to acknowledge the various people that came together to modify it to make it perfect for our trail system. Good Vibes Garage created the arm that connects to the Snowdog, and Joel From the Pedal House fixed up the sled so that it would pull snow into the ruts in the center of the trail. Anthony Teneralli and David Jones took care of removing the paint after all of the welding was done so that we could get it powder coated. It was a fantastic cooperative project. Thanks to the entire community for embracing fat biking, and supporting our efforts to continue packing the trails. If you want to contribute head over and donate here. And Thanks to Medicine Bow Nordic Association for working in cooperation with us. Groomed Snowshoe, Headquarters, Crow Creek Connector, Haunted - I worked over Haunted, hopefully it had time to set up before it got too much use because it was awesome. Up Pole Creek. The packer seemed to do a good job. Anyone who rides or rode it after 3:pm today let us know how these specific trails rode. Thanks. Happy Friday Friends... Just finished grooming the following trails: Snow Shoe, Haunted Forest, Middle aspen, Dilly Dally and Pole Creek. Some semi-warm weather was making things a bit soft, thus it could use some time to set up before it is firm. If you #optoutside and go this afternoon to enjoy the trails, please consider using super low tire pressure. Shout out to Marc Gill for his tree removal efforts today, they were greatly appreciated. Someone buy that guy a beer. #GRYFB
Greetings friends and family, we have a big storm coming in to provide a lovely base for our trail system. We have plans to go groom in Tuesday and Wednesday evenings so the trails have time to set up before we try to ride off the Turkey and Pumpkin Pie!!!! See you in the mountains!
On Friday, 11/1/19 and Saturday 11/2/19 Dr. Dan went up and groomed the main trails and most of Crow Creek - He reported that the snow was still pretty cold and needed more work to set up properly. I went up today and finished Crow Creek, and the rest of the trails look amazing. Everything is groomed and ready to roll, so GRYFB, I did....and it was extremely fun. And go make a donation to Laramie BikeNet to help support these awesome trails.
It has been a long time since a Wyoming Winter resembled what I have always imagined the ice age to have been. A seasonal spectacle that made our square state so special, that made us special for staying here and enduring the harshness of the outdoors while still finding the time and will to play outside. Last year reminded us that we still live in that Wyoming. A Wyoming with two very distinct seasons; Mountain biking season, and Fat Biking Season. Well, it is mid October, and Wyoming is reminding us that soon, we will be shoveling our walks again, scraping our windows again, wearing puffy coats again, and of course....FAT BIKING AGAIN. I am always sad to see the warm weather leave us, but I love Fat Biking. See you all on the trails, and stay tuned for trail updates here and on the Happy Jack Fat Bikers, Inc page on Facebook.
Photo Provided by The Pedal House This year has been a low snow year, which means it has been a fantastic year for Fat Biking. Thanks to the donations of the Local Fat Biking population, we have a groomer. so when the snow comes we are ready to lay down some amazing trails in record time. Things just got Real. Come on out and ride the finest trails in the world. See you out there.
