The Tweeson to ride Fat Bikes.

"invent yourself and then reinvent yourself,
change your tone and shape so often that they can never categorize you."
Cycling is very much like the identity that Charles Bukowski is encouraging us to challenge on a frequent basis.  Life is change.  One drop of sweat at a time, we change.  The seasons change.  Fall is dropping the leaves to cover the trails, a foreshadowing of the coming snow, so we ride fat bikes.  Things change.  Seasons change.  Life gives us the opportunity to change.  I'm changing bikes.  I'm ready for fat bike season.

Fat Biking is coming. (Click here to view)
Things to think about while winter approaches.
  1. Clothing - Check your old winter clothing to make sure it is in good condition.  Boots, down jacket, gloves, Poggies, Fat Bikes all need to be serviced from time to time.  Love them so that they work when you need them.  And remember, we have three awesome local bike shops here in Laramie that support you by putting on races, donating prizes to races, advocating for cycling, working to improve trails in the summer and winter, and being a cultural, social and professional community that helps bring cycling to your back door.   Support them so they can continue to support you.
  2. Lights are awesome in the winter - consider getting some that are rechargeable because it gets dark at 4:30.
  3. Find a riding partner.  Join the Facebook page "Laramie Group Ride" or "Happy Jack Fat Bikers, Inc." to find people to ride with.  Jeff, Milton and I hope to see you out there!

Winter is coming....let's get FAT!!!

The season is coming.  Not hunting season....FAT BIKE SEASON!!!!!  I just got a new one, and it is time to start thinking about how to make our trails that much better.  We have been working with MBNA to make our trails better and we have refined the trail packing process.  The key to good trails....dedicated individuals who will invest the time in packing, even when the wind is blowing.  That is us.  That is the die hards at MBNA.  That is Wyoming.  Looking forward to seeing you out there, and this year we will be doing trail packing clinics for all of the interested individuals who want to have the best trails in America.

Looking forward to the next ride, and fat as ever,
